United Airlines to Serve Telluride Region from Los Angeles

Nonstop Jet Service to Montrose Regional Airport from Los AngelesWinter 2006/2007

TELLURIDE, June 12, 2006 – The Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization announced new United Airlines service from the Montrose Regional Airport, a nonstop flight from Los Angeles International Airport to operate on Saturdays, starting this winter 2006/2007. The flight will begin December 16, 2006 and run through April 7, 2007, and will be operated by Skywest Airlines.
“We are pleased that we can continue nonstop service from the Los Angeles market this coming winter,” said Tom Hess, president of the TMRAO. “Los Angeles has proved a viable market to Montrose/Telluride in the last couple of years. As our previous carrier, Continental Airlines, was not able to continue this service this next season, it is fantastic that United/Skywest stepped in to provide a weekly nonstop flight to Los Angeles”
United Airlines also offers daily connections to Los Angeles via Denver to supplement the Saturday-only nonstop service, and provides convenient connections to many destinations in the United States and the world. Flights will be in the booking systems and available for purchase by mid-June, 2006.

TMRAO focuses on actively pursuing air service to meet the local and visitor traveler demand. This is often facilitated through revenue guarantee agreements with air carriers. The estimated yearly direct guest spending economic impact to the region, due to TMRAO’s air program, is over $60 million and the combined economic activity in the region, due to the Telluride and Montrose airports, is over $200 million.
