The Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization (TMRAO) focuses on actively pursuing air service to meet local and visitor traveler demand. This is often facilitated through revenue guarantee agreements with air carriers. The estimated yearly direct guest spending economic impact to the region due to TMRAO’s air program is over $75 million dollars, and the combined economic activity in the region due to the Telluride and Montrose airports is over $200 million dollars.
“This is the first nonstop summer service from the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area to Southwest Colorado in about four years. We’re very pleased American Airlines will be serving the Telluride/Montrose area this coming summer,” said Tom Hess, president of the TMRAO. ”Many people from the Dallas Ft. Worth area who visit here or have second homes in the region will be able to take advantage of the nonstop convenience of this service. Also, with additional American service, a strong global route network is enhanced that can provide convenient connecting service to and from hundreds of national and international destination cities.”
